I got the Emerson blades I won off of Ebay today... one set is reversible cherry/maple, and the other set is antique oak on both sides (and about 1 1/2 times as thick.)
I retrofit the set of thinner, reversible blades onto my plastic Emerson... yes they do fit... and although the fan is now only 48", the thing FLIES. On high it now goes around 210 RPM with the new blades, while it went 190ish with the Laskos and around 180 with the original wooden blades. Plus, it pushes a LOT more air now, at least directly, than it ever did with either set of old blades.
I will have pics of it as soon as I can afford to buy new batteries for my digital camera :-)

Sounds cool JW, can't wait for the pics.

Good job, man...are those the square-tip blades that you recently acquired?

Nope, I dont no nuthin bout no square tip blades. These are blades off the current Emersons, with the semi-arch end tips.
One more thing - while standard Emerson blades will retrofit the older Emersons because of the hole pattern, your fan MUST have blade badges; otherwise the holes are too big (for example, you couldn't put them directly on a blenderfan without getting a set of badges from another 80's Emerson, Fasco, or ornate Lasko first.)

Or you can use washers and bolt nuts... Can't exactly explain HOW, so if you don't get it, don't ask... lol, I'm that stupid. Also, you could use the rubber gromets that came on some Fascos.

Oh OK, those blades that you are referring to are exactly like the current Casablanca blades as well.

Not QUITE... the hole patterns are different. Casablanca makes two hole patterns as far as I know - the standard one (which fits on full size brackets) and the badge one (which fits Casablanca's badges.) As far as I know, Casablanca's blades have never retrofit onto genuine Emerson fans.
Also, the arch of the tip is more pronounced on the Emerson blades. I think when Casablanca redesigned their blade tips, they just sheared off the point.

AKA, you can use Casablanca blades on a Hunter Original etc. Same goes for American Idustries, and I have yet to find out with Old Jacksonville. Now bear in mind that when I say Hunter Original, I speak of 52" and up sizes.
