Hi the Ace hardware after opening nearly 30 years ago is closing. They had a sale starting yesterday so I went. After everything is sold they will close. Their sale prices were pretty good. There were a few Westinghouse fans in boxes like the petite hugger. Also they had a small ceiling fan display. A few fans had been removed (perhaps sold?) Also I looked at the lighting display which was labeled Seabrook. However the lights in boxes were westinghouse. Mostly generic wall and ceiling lights in the display and I assume they were for sale too.
Also in the plumbing section was a white 4 blade emerson ceiling fan. I am not sure of the model probably 1895 series. It was off but I know it works as I have seen it on before. It was the only fan in the store. There used to be one somewhere else, but it was removed long ago. I may try to get the Emerson. It is in good shape a bit dusty. I amagine I can get it because while the store is in good shape, the owners are going to remodel outside and inside of the spaces before renting it out.
It will be sad to see Ace go. It was so easy to get help there than at Home Depot and though they didn't have everything, they had anything you are likely to need.

Unfortunately, there are no Ace Hardwares within 5 miles of my house. There was one in my neck of the woods, but it didn't stock any fans whatsoever. I've never been to an Ace Hardware that did stock fans, though. Aside from that, it was cool how you could buy Emersons at such stores.

We dont have an Ace, but we have a Meeks that was remodeled. I remember as a little kid, there were 2 ceiling fans, high above the cash registers. One was an Evergo banana fan, the other I could never read the side to know. It was a bright brass 4 blade fan...52" with a variable speed knob and was mounted on a J hook. It was an emperor, but i didnt know what kind. Both fans were never used and MINT. The sad part of this is when I went back during the remodel and asked about the fans, they said they would sell the fans to me for.... like 15 dollars each. I came back with my money the next day and they had already sold them to some guy who offered 30 for each. oh well..

I've been to one with a whole bunch of NuTone Slimlines. I'm sure Brian remembers that one...
