They just opened up the first Super WalMart in my area. Supposedly it's the biggest one built to date.
The Subway is on the lower level next to the underground parking, and it has some builderfans, probably Regencies.
The Garden/Holiday department has four Big-Ass fans, except they're not Big-Ass fans, they only have 6 blades and are marked Macro-Air. One of them has a blade broken off.
Over the photo-counter is the strangest new industrial I have ever seen. It essentially looks like a 3 blade Dayton Lasko. It has the motor and blades of a new Crompton Greaves (Airmaster), with a switch housing and the pullchain out the center of the switch housing. The canopies look similar to KDK/Panasonic spinners, i.e. a much larger, bulkier Original-type canopy. Also similar to the canopies on those British Airmasters with the flat bottom.
Surprisingly, this WalMart did not have a ceiling fan display, and had only a handful of ceiling fans on theshelves.

Isn't it cool how the second picture makes the blades look transparent? Do they have canopies? I don't see them.
I went by the old bowling place, and it appears that they have taken down the 20 something Dayton Laskos. I have to go in to confirm this. I loved those fans.

Yeah I know its amazing the transparent looking blades! Is it because the fan was spinning? Is it me or these NuTone Prolines are hung a little too low. Yeah I don't see the canopies neither.

The fans appear to be hanging about 9' from the floor. The ball/socket canopies for prolines are flat and sometimes hard to spot.

Theres three walmarts near me, the one closest to me has drop ceilings throughout the entire store and the other two newer ones are like the ones pictured above, they also have some interesting fans.

The fans actually were mounted without canopies.
A lot of WalMarts have fans over the produce that hang very very low.
Mike, did you find out about those Dayton Laskos?

Whoa! That's a cool fan! There's no labeling on the fan?

Hum? Very intresting... Its Does looks like a Crompton Greaves. But the fan have a switch housing and doesn't looks very old. Do you know the age of this particular Wal-Mart?(when it was built) Hey Dan how many of these in the store and were they only at the back of the store? Theses fans have a canopy similar to a lot of Today's Indian ceiling fans: Here's MMI ceiling fans www.mmiworld.net/ceiling-fans.htmlHere's MIE ceiling fans(that I justed discovered, ther have great fans!) www.miefan.com/ceiling_fans.htmlThe canopies are similar.

Jean, if you had read what I wrote already, most of your questions would have been answered. Surprisingly, this WalMart did not have a ceiling fan display, and had only a handful of ceiling fans on theshelves. The MIE fans (I've known about them for years) are similar but not the same canopy. Ben, there might be a label on top of the fan somewhere, but how could I see it?

Any help is appreciated. It's not that helpful, however, to ask questions that have already been answered.
