I have two Inteli-Touch fans with a XLP-2000 motor that hum when the power switch is turned on (W-32 control). The him comes from the speaker on the RMM board. The motor and lights do not turn on except for a moment.
I would like to remove the RMM control and just run the fan from a simple switch or a speed control.
The service manual says that at high speed the motor receives full line voltage but i cannot figure out how wire in the capacitor.
Repacing the boards are about $100.00 each and what you bought is what you own. I like the service manual solution: replace the board; if the fan works; install the new board; otherwise no answer.
thanx

You can remove the board and wire the motor as one speed, without it. It's not complicated to do but it's complicated to explain.
It's MUCH more common just to replace the boards. Parts are available from a variety of sources including eBay, which is usually quite cheap.

$50-100 to fix a $400+ fan, i dont know how you would expect to get much better than that, unless they're still under warranty.
Send me pictures of the motor and it's wiring. I'm assuming the XLP models are wired the same as the K55 models.
