Guys, i have some Hunters i need to fix for my uncle... they are mid 90's, 52" 5 blades, spinner motors.. pics soon... but... the remote unit is mounted in the switch housing with no pullchain switch, or obvious way to bypass the unit.. the harness clips straight into the unit.... is there any way i can bypass this unit??? he doesnt have the remotes... any ideas???

I don't have experience with that kind of Hunter remote-controlled fan, so i'm not sure how to bypass the receiver. You might be able to find just the remotes on ebay for cheap, and then program the receiver and the remotes to the same frequency (using those little white switches inside each unit). I assume that most Hunter remotes are compatible with one another. Are they the Studio Series Remote model?

You have to open up the receiver, and replace the relays with reverse switches, and wire the capacitor and . . . it's usually not worth it.
Probably easier to order some replacement remotes from Hunter.
