So im no electritian or anything but i am pretty handy when it comes to the basics of electric, one thing that has stumped me is that whenever the speed control to the fan in my room and the fan in the room next to me is turned, my computer speakers make a popping sound. i've read its some kind of radio interference or something. has anyone else had this little problem before? is there any kind of blocker or something i can get for the speakers?

Your speakers are picking up the arch from when your switch is turned on and off . . . other than making sure the switches are grounded I am not sure if there is a way to prevent this. It's fairly common.

well i know the swich in my room is on the ground line, but im not sure about the other one. the other one is an encon speed control, would those have ground lines to check? i would assume so.

If not you simply connect the ground wire to any metal part on the casing. If you have a metal outlet box it's automatically grounded.
Probably the issue is, something in the speakers isnt shielded.

It's probably something you'll just have to live with. Some part of the speaker setup isnt shielded.
