I'm in need of a speed control switch and associated wiring diagram for an SMC KB36 ceiling fan. Any information on how I might obtain would be appreciated.

Which version of the KB36 is this? Is it a 3 speed fan, or does it have a speed dial?

can you tell me the wiring pattern for the 3 speed switch? I replaced mine with a generic 3 speed (4 wire) switch from Lowes. I thought I replaced the wires as per the original but now i only have a single speed, high. It switches nothing, nothing, high then off. I must have reversed the wires. The capacitor has 4 wires and is a CJ3WS model.

ok, first of all, the genberic switch wont work on the SMC fans, they use a very odd switch that switches the windings in a pattern which i believe is, L+1 then L+1=2 Then L+1+2+3 not sure of this, but i can dig up a wiring diagram for you! you will need the smc switch btw...

thank you very much, I appreciate any help you can give me. The fan model is a 5H52VSL. I contacted SMC and they offered to send a replacement switch but they needed a SKU# or ID number instead of just the model number. Unfortunately I don't have access to the fan as it is is in my cabin.
