A fancy restaurant in Waco has called it quits and had an estate sale today. Inside were four Old Jacksonville S-vent fans. I'd have gotten them if they didn't have a big sign out front listing what wasn't for sale - "light fixtures" was on that list. When I asked about the ceiling fans, the woman in charge said those also had to be left with the building when sold. Anyway, here are the pics - note that I've never seen any of these sizes in these finishes: White and brass 52" with brass brackets - was running on a medium low speed on a high ceiling: All-brown 52" - I've seen 48" and builder-vent 3-speed versions in all brown, but never this. It was running on a medium speed on reverse, on a high ceiling - judging by the dust, it's probably been running that way for 10 years lol The most interesting ones were these two 48" ones, each one stuck in an opposite corner of one of the banquet rooms near the walls. Note that they're all-white except for the downrod and the sideband. Since they were in reach, I of course turned them on - they ran about the same speed as the other white one. It's a shame the place won't let my buy them, because these two are in pristine condition. One final note - the 52" ones seemed to have a crazy pitch on them - you can kind of tell from the pictures. The brown one was wobbling like a son of a gun - but for anyone with a 52" Old Jack, are all of the blades pitched this sharply?

If a location has good fans, keep a VERY close eye on it. If you don't, you could miss them.

The two firsts 52'' ones are beautiful! I like the brackets on them. The wooden ceiling is nice too.
But the 48'' is definitely ugly. The brackets are too short and switch housing is weird. The brass reparation is weird. Its should have brass bottom plate and brackets.
They appear to use somes canopy similar to Moss and later Fasco.

Cool fans. I like the 52 inch fans and the 48 fan is cool, too. And the brackets almost look the old casablanca four seasons short brackets. Otherwise nice finds!

Oh, those are nice fans. I especially like the 48". It's cool-lookin'. Maybe if you could ask the new owner if he's replacing them, and take those home...

I agree with those that say to keep an eye on the fans. When the new owners move in, they will probably replace them.
The 52" remind me much of Taras. The 48" ones remind me of Four Seasons. The brown one reminds me of an Original.
I've never seen those styles/finishes, and the locations are really cool. Great pictures. Thanks.

I have noticed all of them except the brown one , they are very close of the wall.
Did you turn them off before taking the pics? They don't seems to be moving on the pics? And if so is was there a lot of peoples in these rooms?

I have noticed all of them except the brown one , they are very close of the wall. Yes, I noticed that too and thought it was very odd. The two 48" ones are in opposite corners of the same room. Did you turn them off before taking the pics? They don't seems to be moving on the pics? And if so is was there a lot of peoples in these rooms? No, I didn't know how to turn them off. Besides, if I'm in someone else's place I usually leave the fans alone, especially if they're on - although in this case I did turn ON the 48" ones to see how they ran. The lack of apparent motion is due to my use of the flash. In any case, I'm VERY stealthy when I take fan pics - I usually won't turn the flash on unless the fan is running. If there are a lot of people in a building/room/store I won't take pictures. I don't want people to become suspicious and think I'm taking pictures of things in the building for thieves to target, or for the owner(s) to think I myself am a prowler and/or thief. (Plus, the random bystanders who think what a weirdo, taking random pictures of ceiling fans lolol)

Many stores will let you if you ask.
I am very curious and so when I see a fan installed one of the first things I try to figure out is how it is controlled.
