hey guys!
I actually started this project two years ago when I was tinkering with a solar motor kit. I crudely hung it with some plastic pipes and attached small popsicle sticks (squared ends) for blades. Since then, I've been working on a better scale model with larger blades and a better hangar. The new pipe and hangar are ready. My problem is finding a suitable hub for the fan blades. The blades will be made of large popsicle sticks, which will be squared, sanded, stained, and lacquered. I don't know if I should have a fixed pitch, or have an adaptaire design, having four studs with fitters that'll allow the blade to flip. The reason Im using solar power is the motor won't spin too fast and will run smoothly, also it's free electricity. this is a funny question but is there anyone who can fashion this hub for me if I sent the motor? I didnt know how difficult this was. Lemme know what you think of this project and yes I was very bored that day! ;D Thanks, Trevor

Nice idea Trevor. I used to make miniature ceiling fans from legos and actually still have some hangin on a bookshelf in my room using sticky tack. If you find a way to get in contact with me (email, or get my phone number from Brian) and I might be able to give you some ideas.

I found a broken neck to a candle holder that I can drill to fit as a canopy. Any ideas on the blade hub? Thanks Trevor

When I was really young I used to make houses out of legos and tinkertoys, they always had ceiling fans that spun.
I also made drum sets.
