Handful of ads here: Ad featuring either a Columbia or a 20th Century Limited. It's a full page ad but half of it came out blurry... Ad similar to the CD ad floating around with the chrome Zephyr (which I also saw), but this time with a bright brass Panama:

That's a 20th Century.
Look close at the blade brackets on that Panama.

The are Four Seasons arms. Early Panamas, after they switched from the LONG arms, had these, before they introduced the short arms.

I like the short arms. It's a different look.

why do thay make short arms like that. i think they make short arms(no necks) so it won't get twisted(like twisted arms (mainly on the normal size/long necks) make fan out of balance) while fan is in use.. otherise i don't know why.

I think it looks ugly. But when they are too long its also ugly. Especially the brackets used on most of huggers that are so bent down to be further from the ceiling.
The shortest I can support are the current brackets that Casablanca use on the Panama and Ventura

Wouldn't the short arms on that Panama make it only 48"?

I believe so.
That is why the introduced the shorter arms, to get a smaller size fan with the same blade options.

True.
It does look a little awkward, but I like it. Like fitting 17" blades on a 52" motor.

I've seen them in person, and unless you look close, they look like a regular Panama.
