I finally found what I was looking for, a hunter C-17 original adaptaire! I found it at a flea market/antique shop for only $35! I actually got the fan three or so weeks ago (it's been a while since the last time I posted, my father (the moron he is) took away my internet after I aquired a toastmaster from Raymond). Not only was the fan missing it's blades and brackets, but it was also painted over SILVER (no, Brian didn't paint it over LOL ). Luckily, the silver paint came off with extraordinary ease, all I used was WD-40 and a rag. Unfortunately, the only part of the fan with it's original INTACT finish, is the adaptaire hub. The rest of the fan was stripped down to its copper finish. The fan works aswell, the only problems with it are that the ceramic three speed switch was cracked and broken and the fan only runs on one speed. The fan is at the mid-point of restoration. I still need to pry the switch housing off so I can clean out the bearings and fix the other two speeds, it only works on high right now. As for blades, I still need adaptaire blades and brackets for it. I took the adaptaire hub off and discovered that there were four extra threads for regular blade irons. Right now I'm using a pair of old lasko TOC blades on it (I had banana fan blades on it at first).

That is pretty awesome Andrew! I hope you do take some pictures of the fan and put them for us to see. When you have restored the fan and find the brackets. Very Good Find Andrew!

Congradulations on a nice find. Original blades and brackets wont come easily, however. But I'm glad you found one in relatively good condition. Maybe you'll get lucky and happen upon the blades at an antique shop.

I have now cleaned out the bearings, cleaned the rotor, and discovered what is really wrong with the motor. Along with a new switch, the fan needs a new thrust bearing and a speed coil, the existing one doesn't work. Other than that, the fan works fine for now.
