Hey, I kinda like that one! I used to have the 40" model but I had to part it out, there was an open in the motor windings.
I wish fans turned up on the side of the road here. I never see them.

That's exactly like the one we had, except ours originally had a 3-light tulip kit on it.
Those plastic blades weigh a ton. If you put wooden Emerson blades on this fan (say from a plastic Designer Series) I bet it would fly!!!

Those plastic Emersons are undoubtedly nice fans...They had a brownish one on display at Sears in the 1980s and I would always look for it. I was saddened when I discovered it was gone.
Also, I saw one in the house of one of my grandparents' neighbors in 1996. It was hanging over a stairwell, and it had a light kit with wicker surrounding the globe. Needless to say, I was so in love when I saw the fan, and yes, it did bring back a lot of good memories.
There was just something about those particular fans that sold me.

I also saw one of these with kind of an antique brass finish... the blades and brackets were stenciled TOC blades, however. Must have been one of the more recent versions.

Yes, you are indeed correct. that's what I did with my 52'' four blade blenderfan (my blenderfans has fiberglass blades though). I put lasko TOC blades on it and it kicked. I also put a pair of white 36'' friction drive blades on it.

Don't know what year they started manufacturing them, but they started in the late 1970s or early 1980s....

The closest thing I have found to a fan on the side of the road would be a piece of crap SMC from 2001 on the side of the curb downtown. I didn't even bother touching it, which is something to say for me...

Did it hav the oval vents like this plastic version, or the more U-shaped TOC vents? Emerson had a few different brass TOCs with the Fasco-type flywheel, although I've never seen one with stencil blades. These had the U-shaped vents. If the vents were ovals, it was likely a much earlier version, although I've never heard of such a thing in brass.
