Sorry for the crappy quality. It was indoors, at night, with my cell phone. The restaurant I was in had three of those. 52" 5-blade GE-vent builder fans, 3 speed and reversible, nothing but generic. But the cane, on all three fans, is that barn red color. And it came from the factory like that--I could see that the cane was red plastic; it wasn't painted. Anyone seen that before?

That's ugly... I've seen fans with brown cane. (that's because it's dirty )

I saw dark brown cane on a recent Casa Vieja (expensive Lamps Plus brand). The blades were very traditional looking but the rest of the fan was ornately done in wicker as well. Not sure if it's still in production.

And you're sure it's not yellow cane that's darkened with age? Dark yellow cane was common on white blades. Also possible, it's regular cane with wood behind it and the rest of the blades were painted white.

Have you been there to confirm the color? You can't judge by the pic because of the poor quality.

Are you seriously coming onto my post and telling me what I saw? No, the cane was not pink. It was red. Allow me to restate: "But the cane, on all three fans, is that barn red color. And it came from the factory like that--I could see that the cane was red plastic; it wasn't painted." Thanks, I know the difference between pink and red. So unless you have something to contribute to one of my fan posts--a question, or an answer to a question--then back off.

I dont think it's red either, but I posted my theory, and it's definitely not pink. Pierce did see it.

I'll go back soon with my digital camera, instead of my cell phone's cruddy camera, and take some good pics. It is through-and-through red plastic cane in cheap woodgrain blades, exactly as pictured above (though I know the photo is crappy).
