So i went up to Disney World this weekend and was surprised to see that they still have a few originals in the Magic Kingdom (they looked like the 80s models and were running VERY slow) Our hotel room had this Toastmaster look-alike fan, i was able to get a pic of it. the second pic is a GE vent fan at a convenience store, sorry the quality is so poor on the second, my phone's camera sucks. anyway here are the pics, the first one was in our room, the second at a convenience store, im sure someone will be able to identify the first one for sure:

The second one is a Casablanca, I think.

The second one is a Casablanca, I think. If those blade irons aren't genuine Casablanca, then they're the most impossibly astounding imitations I've ever seen. From the right angle, they have a very Adaptair look to them. The exact shape of the blade ends and tips is also very Casablanca. My Delta I is hanging over the computer here, and I'm looking up at it and comparing it to that picture. The blade irons and blades are an exact match, but the switch housing and motor don't look right. The exact shape of the switch housing in your pic, as well as the gauge of the metal, and the exact luster of the finish, all point towards imitation. The picture's too vague for me to really side one way or the other. Of course, I could just ask the easiest question: did it have the brass Casablanca tag on the side of the switch housing?

Actually many knockoffs have Zephyr type brackets. The way to tell is to look at where the part holding the blade joins the arm. A Zephyr bracket tapers off, where there is a definite "break" between the bracket and arm on other moon-type brackets. Here is an example of a NON-Zephyr moon bracket. Look closely at the upper right bracket on Adam's Chadwick Miller. You can see the "break" between the arm and the bracket: Not the best example, but here's Adam's other Chadwick Miller WITH the Zephyr type brackets. Look dead on at the bracket facing the viewer and you can see that it tapers into the arm: A Delta I with the brackets, for comparison:

The all brass Chad-Wick Miller, Those brakets and blades came from a Casablanca. I ended up braking one of the orignal bright brass brackets that came with the fan. The brakets are Antique Brass, Not noticable in the pictures. The fan didn't have the oroginal blades when purchased at a Saint Vincent De Paul in 1993, I used wicker blades before that, and when I came across the Non working dark brown Zeprhys (Yes they had Antique Brass Brackets), I thought the fan would look more original with the Casablanca blades....

My 52" 4 blade Tyeb had the Zephyr type brackets, as well as most of the GE vent fans I've come across down here in Texas. I believe the old 4 blade Homesteads used them. I'm sure you can find some if you look in the Yahoo galleries close enough.

I think the second one is one of those imported Fascos, but the picture is really faded and hard to see. The first is definitely a Synlix.

There was a gas station here, a Circle K from 1987 that had 2 GE vent fans in it. They are gone by now, as it was remodeled. Also there was another Circle K in another town, and I remember seeing a brown 36" Original throught the window. It was kind of in the back where the aisles and refrigerated cases were. I have no idea if it is in there still.
