I finished work on the K55 Encon and posted a picture in the Dan's Collection Gallery of the Yahoo Group.
It is model FKK-52, polished brass w/ gloss oak cane blades.
It is fairly slow for a K55, similar on high to most plastic Emersons. It uses a 6uf capacitor. It is only one speed, when I got it there was an on-off pullchain installed, and no sign that any speed regulators were ever installed (additional capacitors, transformer, etc). I will contact Encon (Westinghouse) on Monday for a schematic to see if it was ever 3 speed.
My work consisted mainly of cleaning and oiling the bearings. There is still a slight amount of bearing noise,t he sort we have come to associate with K55s. It is not really noticable with the blades installed, the only to completely silence it would be to install new bearings. I also cleaned the brass a bit but I did not polish or refinish it, there are still some imperfections.
I have more pictures, 800x600, available upon request.
