Hi I have an SMC spinner fan I found. It is white and has light wood/white blades. It is I believe a 42", but I haven't put the blades on to find out. I thought maybe a Laguna, but I don't know. The label says Model: HX42-ML Vendor: 654033 Serial: BB 37912 Manufactured: Mar 2000.
So do you know what it was called? Is there a website for SMC? I cannot find one.

As Louis said, it is probably a Laguna but it could also be a Grayton (Hampton Bay). SMC sells Graytons to Home Depot (Hampton Bay) and also sells their own, or, so I think at least...

I was kind of thinking along those lines, Louis. My fan does not look like the one in the picture. I guess it is similar though.

You could be right Sean. My neighbor has a Hampton Bay Grayton and it is somewhat similar to what I found. I might put a picture of it sometime.

Does it have an intergrated light kit on it? The Grayton does, but mine does not.

The Grayton does, but mine does not. Ok this is a start, so it is most likely an SMC sold Grayton. Both of them were labeled SMC, so it could have been a Home Depot one, but with this information, I am thinking SMC sold it.

I imagine it was a rather cheap fan. I got it for free so I'm not worried.

I recall that some of the older Graytons actually came without a light, if I remember correctly.

The date on it is Mar 2000.
Also the motor has vents on the top and bottom. The switch housing cap has a starburst design. I remember seeing the same cap on a Laguna.

I have identified the fan it is a Grayton. I saw a picture of one in the box on ebay and it was exactly the same as mine except it had a light kit. It was not labeled as SMC or Hampton Bay, but I'm inclined to believe the ebay one was a Hampton Bay. The pullchain finials were ovals, mine has a white and brass ball instead and I've seen the oval finials on Hampton Bay fans.

Cool! It's good to finally know what brand a fan is. I guess those could have been sold under more than one brand.
