I just got a fan from Habitat that looks just like a 36" Hunter Original, except that the tag on the side, instead of saying Hunter, says "Classic Fan Company" and also mentions that it was made in Texas. Any ideas? I will upload a pic to my group later next week when I get the chance to hang it up.

Classic Fans is the most common, made, as you said, in Texas. Some of these copies are in fact better made than Originals themselves. I believe the "Classic Fans" company was later bought out by Litex. There were a few identical Hunter copies made with the Litex name in the same region of Texas, then nothing. The Classic Fans are damn near identical to 70s Hunters. Some of them had arch-end blades and different brackets. Classic Fans even offered a reversaire-copy option, although I dont believe I've seen it in person.

Now I really wish I had found the blades and irons for it... Chances are they were very very standard and not the reversaire type, those seem to be extremely rare. But you never know. In any case the Classic Fans are very cood copies. Just get a set of Original blades and brackets and no one will know the difference.

I put some 42" Antique Brass standard ones (Harbor Breeze) and they fit fine. I also found some 36" blades to put on, and they fit the blade irons perfectly. Looks like I will be hanging it earlier than I had thought I would have.

If you want it to look authentic, you'll want to use squared or arch-end blades, and horshoe or "smily face" (Zephyr) brackets.
