Hey guys, sorry for disappearing on ya. I ve been busy doing work in town. While doing so, I happen to run across this cool ceiling fan in the music store (no pun intended) The fan looked like a funky Hunter original with odd blade brackets and a somewhat fat nose. The fan greatly resembled an evergro in the yahoo gallery. Its brown with the exception of a brass bottom plate with a unique design. Moved alot of air but DESPERATELY needs oil. Sounded like a pepper grinder and kinda moaned. I turned it off and it took 20 seconds to stop rotation! I talked with the store owner and the fan is coming down this coming week for remodeling. He said he wasnt sure what to do with it. Is this a good fan? I wanna tear it apart and have a better look but it seemed that only one speed worked. oh well. Lemme know what you think of this fan. Thanks, Trevor

You'll need to be more specific. What Evergo did it look like? What design was the bottom blade? The canopy, the switch housing, the speed control, the blade brackets . . . if you cant describe them in enough detail that we can picture them, then find fans in the gallery with similar features and point them out.
In any case, if he's taking it down, GRAB IT. It's sounds cool and I'm sure you (we) can repair it.

Hey Dan,
The fan motor and nose looked very similar to a Hunter Original, the only thing odd was there was no id tag. Im very certain it was an oil bath fan. The bottom plate had a unique design which looked like a bunch of semicircles, or bananas. The whole fan was brown exept for the bottom plate which was bright brass. There was no canopy on this fan because they decided to mount it within the ceiling panel, so all I could see was the pipe. The last thing odd about this fan was the blade brackets because they stepped inward. They looked like jagged V's. The mystery fan is identical to the Hunter Original knockoff in the Evergro gallery. Whaddya think? Still worth trying to buy? ;D

How many pullchains does it have? And try and get it for free, if it's not working well and they're taking it down . . .

Hey guys! sorry for the delay in response. I havent been around to gettin on the internet much. About the banana fan. The nose only has one pullchain on it :S I looked inside and it was only wired for one speed. The genious who took it down broke one of the blade arms. I offered and insisted to take the fan down myself but noooooo they broke the arm in the process. The brass finish is coming off on it but otherwise its in good shape. The hanger for it is identical to a Hunter original. Blades arent wood and have some nicks oh well. Motor was a lot lighter than an original. Nose housing was PLASTIC. WHHAAAAA I was surprised with the blade arms being so light! Is this fan really worth it? Brians pushin me to get it Thanks for your help! Trev

The nose only has one pullchain on it :S I looked inside and it was only wired for one speed. Someone probably modified it. I've known them to be three and variable, and wouldnt be surprised if a two existed, but I'd have to see to believe a stock one-speed. The genious who took it down broke one of the blade arms. I offered and insisted to take the fan down myself but noooooo they broke the arm in the process. I always try to take down any fans I'm interested in myself. But we can find you a spare. Blades arent wood and have some nicks oh well. Not wood? What are they made of? I havent seen this either. Do they look like any of the blades in the Gallery? Motor was a lot lighter than an original. Did it have a spinner motor inside? The oil bath models seem to be just as heavy as originals. Nose housing was PLASTIC. WHHAAAAA All of these had plastic switch housings, after all some Originals did too. I was surprised with the blade arms being so light! Why? Most blade arms are cheap pot-metal, break easily. Is this fan really worth it? Brians pushin me to get it Thanks for your help! How much are they asking you for it? Given that they broke it I wouldnt think it would be much, so why are you even questioning picking it up? "Someone's giving me a cool fan for free (cheap?), but I dont know, should I take it?" Most definitely yes. If you dont like it, give it to Brian for all the help he's given you, he's been wanting one of those Bananafans for while.
