I think a brown/brass one would look real nice with a schoolhouse globe. Beyond that, and the 4 tulips I put on that antique brass one, I dont know what kind of lights to put on Taras.

What does a Tara look like w/o a light kit?

Look in the Tara Quest Gallery: www.geocities.com/mt_spiffy/gallery.htmlThere's a brown one with no light, an ornate one (in pieces) with no light, two antique brass ones with no light, two white/brass ones with no light, a white one with no light (in pieces, a chrome one with no light, and the picture from the manual-- with no light. I like them better without a light, but I dont have any switch caps.

Oh, it does look better without a light. It shows off the fan's style.

Nothing on the fan is ornate except for the switch cap, but the brackets and canopy are unusual and tie the switch cap to the plain motor. Without the switch cap it's still a plain fan.
So, I need to find some switch caps. Any ideas? There was one on eBay a while ago but I was stupid and didnt bid.

Sure, let's go with that.
If you have the abilities, you could program a CNC machine to cut it out of a chunk of aluminum for the fancy ornate one.

I dont even know what a CNC machine is. Having one cast for me would be expensive
All Tara switch caps are the same, to my knowledge.

If so, this is what I do to try and match Tara's original cover. I would look for an old 4-way light fixture for a hunter original. The center of the fixture would have a fancy looking cover to cover up the lights wiring. The covers are all pretty much fancy and kinda goes almost into a point just like Tara's cover. Some of them looks just like a Tara's cover. Same finish and all. You can modify it to fit the fan. If this is not what your talking about then let me know and I'll try to see what I can do to help.

That is what I am talking about. Actually if you'll notice the brown & brass Tara in the Gallery actually, instead of the proper switch cap, has the bottom cover for a 4 light kit. It looks pretty close. The problem is, very few light kits have the kind of cap that matches and is the right size. Some of the Hunter Original ones would work, the ones I have are the wrong finish and not quite the right size.
Good idea though!

The very first time I attempted to sketch the fan was in 6th grade. If I still have that sketch I'll scan it and post it in the future.
