I got a 1977 1.9A Hunter Original and followed the video online to disassemble it so I could thoroughly clean it.
I was able to remove everything and give it a good clean (there was oil everywhere possible when I got it.
After putting it back together I noticed it spins down quite fast. When moving with my hand it stops spinning within a few seconds whereas my other fans spin for a bit.
Before I disassemble it again, any thoughts on what it could be?
Oil is fine because I filled it up with oil and checked with the pipe cleaner. I did notice oil on the "flywheel?"
Here’s video of spin down and one of a “click” sound it’s making:

Did you try running it for a while?

I did run it on low for a few hours then ran on high for an hour but it was still like that. I ended up disassembling it again and the bearing stack seemed to be fine installation wise. I did notice the oil cup seemed low on oil? Which is weird because I had filled it up and checked the oil and it was fine the day before. Not sure where it ended up but I cleaned up the oil port as well this time by spraying through wd40. the oil cup o-ring also seem to have been stretched and messed up so I’m going to replace it and try putting the fan back up with fresh oil again. I also added a 3-speed pullchain and a 10uF capacitor but it seems the 10uF doesn’t allow the 1.9A motor to spin. Needs more power, do you know which value works good for 1.9A? I assume this o-ring goes to the bottom of the switch housing

You would need to get a new O-ring, and yes it goes in bottom of the oil cup.

Alright, got the motivation to fix this fan again. I made a video of the bearing, it spins down fast. Would you say it's bad? youtu.be/r14-3nJ-WVs?si=6vxyezJ_NWD19KZP Also I took some pics of the rotor and windings. Maybe there's something someone else can see that I am missing, but it does seem like bearing is bad.
