Here's a Casablanca Delta II I acquried about a year and a half ago. This is an early version made in April 1985 having the Slumber Five integrated control which still works flawlessly. It was originally in pretty sad shape when I acquried it. It went through a good rejuvenation treatment. It was notably very dusty and the bearings were very stiff. Although the finish is darken as it's the case on most of bright brass Casablancas of a certain age the finish is still very shiny. It does not have much scratches. I never realized until now that 1985 Delta II have a straight Casablanca logo rather than wavy. Is this something unique to these Delta II made in 1985 or all Casablancas made in 1985? I'm not sure exactly what kind of motor it has but it does not appear to be an Emerson. There is no sticker or markings on it. It's defintely not a Samsung motor either. It by far the coolest running Casablanca I've encountered so far. Just like an Emerson or XLP-2000 motor it's very silent, it does not have any audible hum or whirring on any speeds unlike Samsung motors. Here it is all cleaned up and running smoothly again. The lowest setting is a little bit slower than the low speed of a 3-speed Deltas II doing only about 40-45 rpms.

Gorgeous! It seems a lot of these have slight brass fading on the faceplates, which is unfortunate, luckily yours still looks great! Chances are this fan has an Astrosyn motor in it, the bearing issues also help me come to this conclusion since they always have bad bearings it seems.

Chances are this fan has an Astrosyn motor in it, the bearing issues also help me come to this conclusion since they always have bad bearings it seems. Bright brass with high gloss antique oak blades is my favorite finish combo for a Casablanca. About the brass fading, tarnishing or changing colour it did that on the blade arms. They are milky with greenish and brownish spots. Very ugly but other than the ruined finish the arms are in good condition. They are not twisted or broken so I replaced them with a spare set in much better condition and kept the original blade arms as spares to possibly repaint them in case I ever need a replacement set for a painted finish fan like a red or black model for exemple. Yes it appears it's an Astrosyn motor. A good oiling did wonders to it. If you check the video, it now spins smoothly, the rpms are normal and it has a good spin down time. Before oiling it could bearly run on the lowest setting even bladeless!
