Thanks in advance for any help!
I have just installed 2 Hunter Original fans, that I have been storing for years waiting to create the right place to hang them. I have had other Originals operating for years, but these two I have never used. First is Model 22274 Ser L, all polished brass, and second is Model 23553 brown paint. The painted one is clearly newer. They obviously don't match, but we are using them together on a covered porch. Both fans are fully oiled and seem to be operating correctly.
My issue is that both fans seem to operate at two speeds, controlled by a pull chain, but the speeds are different. A simple analogy would be that the brass fan offers High and Medium speeds, and the brown offers medium and low options. The "high" setting will be far to fast for our porch, but we would love to be able to choose between "med" or "low" speeds for both fans, even if they are not exactly the same.
Any explanation or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
So.... A quick edit. The newer brown fan is actually a 3 speed fan, and it's high speed is about equal to the lower speed on the older 2 speed fan. My desire would be to slow the older 2 speed fan a bit, to match the medium speed of the newer fan. Is there a relatively simple way to accomplish that?

I have a fan hobby, like most of us on here. In other words, I am just your average fan collector.

You would likely need a solid state control for the earlier one. Other controls may work but these fans are not always the best with them. Or you would need to take the fan apart and add a 3rd speed with a capacitor.

Thanks so much for the idea. I think we have decided to leave things alone for now. The higher speeds, even if not matching, have been nice on warmer days. When it gets cooler, we'll just turn the fans off for now, even though it's great to show them off in operation!!!
