Hi everyone, I’m in need of identification of a robbin&myers polished brass, 4 bladed ceiling fan. With reverse aire blades. Model number is 23274-002. Has the Hunter 1886 black logo on side. Been searching for a log of all Hunter original and Robbin&myers model catalogs, but no joy!
It’s reversible, switch on top of motor. Think it’s a later 80’s model ? But I love it and the color. Needs some TLC
Hope someone can date and help me.
Many thanks

After looking through some catalog scans you have an Original, that is the more obvious part as no other fans from that era had Reverse-Aire. The fan is likely from somewhere around 1983-1984 as those seem like the years were 23274 was the model number. After that they changed the model number. I am unsure on how there is a reverse switch, these earlier fans never had them, never heard of one on the top either because they usually are on the switch housing. Plus the Reverse-Aire irons were designed to serve the same function as reverse. I hope that some more knowledgeable people will chime in here as I am just going off of catalogs and some background knowledge and there is a couple people who may have some more info so check back regularly.

Thanks for fast reply and help. I was also wondering about reverse switch on top! And 12oz reverse air blades. It’s throwing me off! It’s 4 blade motor, the reverse air blades work with this 2.5 amp motor but not original to it, but they are beautiful polished brass and spins great(Also throwing me off is the 3speeds!) But I love it.
Thanks again

Hmmm, now you have me wondering, where did you get this fan? It very well could have been modified.

Sir, you are correct! It’s has no reverse switch! I just double checked the motor. So your dates must be spot on.
I have another 1amp polished brass what I want to put also. That has the reverse switch. Model #25574. Do you know idea of date on that one? I’m very interested in dates ad they are in beautiful condition
Thanks

Those ones would be from anywhere between 1985 and 1991. Those were made until all basic originals became 4/5 blade
