I decided to post a recap and update regarding my ceiling fan collection so far.
I have:
1. Relite Rapide MKII 900mm 1 of 2, 1994, found at JB Department Stores in 2018. Repainted with paint brush in the same white colour. Needs capacitor replacement (1.6 Mfd) - Installed in my room
2. Relite Rapide MKII 900 mm 2 of 2, 1990, found going to be scrapped in 2020 (Repainted with spray paint in same white colour. Needs repainting as it did not come out well. I think capacitor will also need replacement (1.6 Mfd) - Installed in the kitchen
3. Crompton Riviera High Speed 900 mm Opal White, bought in 2021 from DesertCart Malta - Installed in the study room
Relite Rapide MKII 1400 mm, found going to be scrapped in 2021 together with about 15 others, and I saved 3 (see 4,5, and 6 below)
4. All 3 blades in good condition, motor with good 2.25 Mfd capacitor.
5. Blades slightly bent, so I tried cutting them to 1200mm as an experiment, still cause wobbling. 2.25 Mfd capacitor replaced with spare one from the ones that were scrapped.
6. Only motor and a very short down rod (cut). This one has a Tibcon capacitor, and works
Out of these 3 fans I have 1 good canopy and 3 damaged ones. So, I ordered 4 pairs of canopies from DesertCart, which were shown like Crompton canopies on the website but are actually a bit different, bit good enough.
The blades for the 3 1400 mmRelites are going to be fabricated for me, but 900 mm sweep. I will then paint them accordingly
Now, as it happens to be my birthday on 17th Sept, I was allowed to order a Havells Velocity fan from Facebook Marketplace from Malta. It is only Euro 20 (that is how much I guess it would cost in India without shipping, taxes, etc!
I think I will replace it with the one in the kitchen, and the one in the kitchen will go into the laundry room, as it is a bit shabby.
I also have a damaged ALIC (stator damage), a Frisk, which I was given by the same scrapper I mentioned earlier on, who I tried to fix, but has very low speed, acceleration, and torque.
