I’m new to this board but have been lurking the last few weeks learning things. I have always owned old houses and like to keep things matching with the style, problem is I am somewhat techy as well. I just put in a Simpleconnect fan in someone house and really like the technology and integration with Apple HomeKit. I am in the process of changing out all the big box fans in my 100 year old house with better quality models. I have no AC so we run fans constantly all summer. I’d really like something that looks like a Casablanca Panama but with Simpleconnect. Does anyone know if it would be possible to gut a cheap Simpleconnect fan of the receiver and retrofit it to another fan? I’m not afraid of cutting and splicing wires. Do you think the harnesses/model is for a Simpleconnect fan would be available from Hunter?

They make Simpleconnect receivers and there are Hunter remotes that work with them. If you bought those and paired them with the panama(it CANNOT be Inteli-Touch or Comfort-Touch! Only pullchain.) it should work. I have seen other collectors pair Simpleconnect with their fans and they had no problems. Feel free to reach back out if you need anything else!

And to add, if it has a Hang-Tru, the receiver should be installed in the motor housing, it will not fit in Hang-Tru.

Are you referring to the Simpleconnect 99107 Bluetooth controller? I was looking into that one and was under the impression it was Bluetooth only not the same as the native Wi-Fi Simpleconnect fans that can connect to Apple HomeKit for automation.

Sorry it took a couple days to get back to you. But yes, the receiver system you mentioned will provide the functions like the fans that come with some fans. You are also going to be able to pair remotes with it too.

A second thought I had was to use the Fanimation WH501WH. I like the aesthetics of the switch much more than the Hunter switches or anyone elses remotes (looks similar to the Lutron decora switches I have elsewhere in the house). I installed one of these on a Emerson Premium Select in my bedroom. It has a 5 dip switch canopy module.
Could I install the Fanimation module into a Panama, because I see they sell a bluetooth version as well? I am watching an Panama XLP, Panama DC, and and older Panama (model 6673G) on ebay. I have 3 more bedrooms that need new fans and I would buy 3 more Premium Selects because I know they work, but I can't find anymore new or used.
On another somewhat related topic, I really want to get a Hunter Original for my office. I currently have a junk fan with a lightkit on a 3 way switch. I was thinking doing the Original with a schoolhouse globe. My question is are there any good options to control the Original plus lightkit from 2 ends of the room without using the pull chains (using the existing wiring). It was my understanding that I can't simply install one of those normal canopy modules in an Original.
Thanks!

Fansync can work with many fans so that would be a good option. Except for DCs. As for the Originals, it can be pretty tough. I would try to see what hunter says. They have original exclusive controls and I am not familiar with any that you can have multiple on one fan.

Good to know on the DC. So with a Panama DC if I am stuck with Casablanca controls only…that makes the XLP or the older model the preferred.

Yes. I never mix and match DC controls. They can be sensitive and you don't want to fry anything. It happens more than you'd think.
