Hi - Would appreciate any help identifying my fan model. Lost original paperwork and broken foot prevents me from climbing on a ladder to grab number from top. Trying to find similar model or a comparable model to swap parts out of. Going strong since 1996 installation... I believe the motor went. Blades still spin. Have 4 matching fans in pristine condition and desperately trying to keep it that way. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedWondering if there is something similar, I can just swap out to my blades and base cover... if I can find another motor or anything close. Appreciate... from a fan novice who didn't realize how attached she was to her fans until one went... lol Thanks in advance for any help. Stacey

Hi,
Your fan is a Hunter Passport II, sold at Home Depot in the mid 1990s. Did you notice any signs of the motor going out before it went out (grinding noises, excessive humming, etc.)? It may have bad capacitors, which can be replaced. Unfortunately, if the motor has gone out, it is difficult to find a White/Bright Brass (Polished Brass) fan nowadays, or I'd suggest shopping for one to replace it. I'd have an electrician out to look at it and see if they can determine whether the problem is with the motor, or just that a capacitor needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Hi Vincent - Thank you for the info.... Super helpful and very much appreciated. No, it was running perfectly, no noise or issue at all. They are all so quiet you forget they are on. I went to turn it on the other day and it made a little bit of a cranky noise and smoked slightly. Flipped the switch right off... and flipped circuit breaker since we have all fans on separate lines. Its the most used fan.

Its wired to wall switch by the way. Not sure if that factors in.

If it isn't repairable, it shouldn't be too hard to get a replacement fan motor that matches. To be honest I would have to recommend one of the Facebook groups for that. That model is very common and somebody should easily have a matching motor.

Thanks again for the model info! Found one new in box on-line after all of my previous Hunter 52" white fan searches turned up nothing. Passport II did the trick... white/brass exact match.
