I got that white SMC spinner today that I mentioned I bid on from EBay. The guy was quite an awesome seller! Anyway, its NIB, as he said, but I do have one complaint. The box shows the traditional ball and socket mount, but inside, I immediately found a "supllemental instruction manual" for the "new and improved" mounting system. Its the type with the flat bracket that goes onto the box, a T-Bar type, and then the motor is hung by the canopy. I really hate that, it reminds of a Grayton from Hampton Bay. But the fan is nice, im happy with the transaction. I may actually take down my recently installed, repainted Charleston 42" in my bedroom and hang this. Yes, the Fasco is MUCH high quality, quieter, and will blow more air, but it hangs very low. Even with a pole that barely is 3 inches, the blades are only like 6' 5" off the floor. My cousin has to duck to get around it. This is obviosuly due to the fact that the motor is so substantial. The spinner will be much higher up. Sorry the Fasco will not be availible for sale or trade now, since I love it so much, I will find another location for it at a family members house. Anyway, just wanted to update! And I will try to dig out my Homestead Chippendale this week sometime and make it availible for sale. Will post when Im ready

You can mount the Fasco close-up with little or no downrod, but it takes some "engineering" if you dont have the right kit.
And dont forget to call me on the Chippendale.
