Hi there. I know I haven't posted much, but I've had an interest in fans since I was a kid (and I am only 21 now) and since I don't quite know where to jump in on other's threads, I thought I would sort of formally introduce my self. I've talked with both Dan N. and Matthew Cody before, and I would sort of like to "ease" into the board.
Anyway, probably one of the things that stimulated my interest in ceiling fans was the fact that one of the houses I lived in as a young kid had 2 Sierra ceiling fans, one in the master bedroom and the other being in the living room. From what I have gathered from Matthew, those fans were Sierra Turbos. Something about looking at those six blades sort of spooked me and yet fascinated me. I've always since had sort of love/hate relationships with ceiling fans (at least six blade and fancier five bladed ones on higher ceilings, ceiling height plays a role on the "spook" factor. I don't know if anyone else on this board has experienced this before? Anyway, like most people here, a trip to the local Builder's Square always made me jump with joy. It got even more exciting when Home Depot started carrying Casablanca fans. Somewhere after that, it seems that fans started to decline, as we are all aware of on this board.
I don't mean to drag this on, but if anyone out there (Dan, Matthew, I know you already know this) has any form of Sierra knowledge, please do share. Believe it or not, I have seen far more Sierras than Homesteads. (or at least to my knowledge) I grew up in the Midwest (specifically Kansas City and Tulsa) and in both locales I have seen Sierras where it seems logical that I might see Homesteads. Ok, I'm finished now, I promise.
