Hi there, I have loved fans since I was 3 years old. My grandmother used to have one in her kitchen which was a Revelair USHA and it was turned on to stop me crying once. Even since then I have been fascinated by fans. My favourite would have to be industrial style particularly wattmasters and the made in Australia mistralaires which have a long spin down time. I am lucky to have a few of these brand new in their boxes. I also collect desk and pedestal fans with my favourite being my Cinni brand ones which are made in India. I am enjoying reading all the threads on here and find it very interesting! Cheers

Welcome! Here in the US we have those Cinni portable fans also. We also had the Mistral Gyroaire with rotating grille.

Hi Cole, thanks for the welcome. I remember the gyroaire mistral fans. When I was a kid we had one It was brown and cream colour. I’m not sure what happened to it but there was a warning issued here back in the 90’s for them being a fire hazard. I liked it b cause it had a variable slider switch. I wish they still made more fans with a variable speed.
Cheers Tom

Welcome to the group Tom!
The recall was issued here as well on those Gyroaire box fans which I think got rid of most of them.. It's a shame they didn't design it better, it was an interesting fan with quite good performance..

Welcome to forum!
Australia has a lot of cool fans. I hope you post pictures of your acquisitions and or sightings. I would love to see your Australian made Mistralaires. I particularly like the four cane bladed version.
