I saw these at Walmart a few years ago and they disappeared but now they're back. I'm usually not into retro fans other than the Cinni and Ecco and Casablanca ones. I did like the Holmes ones. I don't think there's any thing particularly special about these, but I do like the cute size and the slide switch. On the manual it shows a parts list and exploded diagram. The motor looks like the typical modern desk fan motor, but interestingly these use an external oscillating arm/hub like older metal fans usually do, instead of an arm inside the motor housing like most plastic fans. I also really like the bullet back motor housing with center screw. That makes it look like the oldies.

I picked one up at Walmart yesterday. They had the white and the teal models only, and I picked the teal. I thought it would look aqua, but it's more of a robins' egg blue. Overall not a bad little fan, looks nice and moves pretty good air for its size. The motor lubrication could be improved I think.
Here's a video:

Yeah, it is a neat little fan with the 3 speeds.

The motor does seem to need lubrication, or the bearings aren't aligned properly.. That aside it seems to move a decent amount of air and is much quieter than I was expecting, a lot of these replica fans seem to be unreasonably loud..

I haven't tried most of them, but I like how this looks. The looks seem a bit more characteristic of fans such as Emersons, than a lot of more expensive retro fans. It's too bad the lubrication seems to be an issue with these, they are otherwise decent fans, but will probably get thrown out early due to seizing up.

I do like some of the retro desk fans, notability Cinni, Hunter and Kendal. I used to have a black and silver Holmes 25 cm retro desk fan bought from La Baie in 1999. It was the earliest retro portable fan I remember seeing. It's only weakness was how flimsy the blades are. What seems to be the same fan as the one in your video can be purchased at Home Hardware for 45$. It's also 20 cm and 3-speed. I love the colour and the external oscillator is cool. I just wish the blades were shaped differently and wider.

It's definitely a neat looking fan, but I think 45 dollars is a bit steep for something made in China..

Interesting the Home Hardware one is badged Classic, the Mainstays one has no name visible on it. On the sticker underneath it says Jiangwen Keye Electric Appliances.

Yeah at Walmart in US mine costed about $25 or so, maybe a little less. I got it with old gift cards I had though.
