It's about the same price as what they sell them in the US it seems. It's also all metal. Yeah at Walmart in US mine costed about $25 or so, maybe a little less. I got it with old gift cards I had though. O, I didn't realize you were talking about Canadian dollars. That's not too bad..

That's not too bad..Unless I specify what type of dollars, when I mention a price here in dollars it's in Canadian dollars. Right now this fan can be bought at 45$ full price or about 36,97$ on sale.

I do like some of the retro desk fans, notability Cinni, Hunter and Kendal. I used to have a black and silver Holmes 25 cm retro desk fan bought from La Baie in 1999. It was the earliest retro portable fan I remember seeing. It's only weakness was how flimsy the blades are. What seems to be the same fan as the one in your video can be purchased at Home Hardware for 45$. It's also 20 cm and 3-speed. I love the colour and the external oscillator is cool. I just wish the blades were shaped differently and wider. I went to Walmart today and they've gotten their new fans in for springs. They still have these retro fans, but they're now sold under the "Better Homes and Gardens" brand and include a free magazine subscription. They still don't have a logo on the badge, but the box mentions they now have a fabric covered cord, which mine didn't have. They had them in the blue and white colors and the price was $24 I think. Also they have a new USB fan from the Sharper Image brand which is pretty neat looking and touch activated for $14 in white or black: www.amazon.com/Sharper-Image-SBV1-SI-Control-Operation/dp/B07N3CC7TV

They also have GREAT deals on Vornado fans at Walmart. A V-flow 37” tower fan would normally sell for $79.99, but at Walmart, $52. A Vornado Flippi V10, usually $34.99, is $24.99. Great deals that didn’t exist last year 👌🏼👍🏻

Unfortunately they don't have any displays. I don't think my local Walmart has had a fan display since at least 2016 if not 14 or 15. I miss being able to see all the fans running since that was a major part of my childhood. The fan aisle is also smaller than it was back in say 2006 or so. For some reason they don't sell as many brands as they used to it seems. There is another Walmart in my area that does have the fans on display last I went during the late winter but it was only a couple of pedestal fans and maybe a box fan or two. They were high up on shelves and you couldn't really feel the air moving much. That was before they got the new models in for spring though, so there wasn't much there.

How big was the fan aisle back in 2006? At my local Walmart, the fans (and air conditioners) take up a whole aisle!

I don't recall exactly, but they just seemed to have more selection than they do now. And more brands. They do have a pretty good selection now that spring is here though, part of it could be that back then they had a display for every fan, which took up more space than just boxes.

I bought one of the Sharper Image foam bladed fans a while ago and am just now getting to open it. One thing that surprised me when I looked at the bottom of the box it says "Vornado Air LLC". I wasn't expecting they are the ones making these. The Hearth and Hand (Chip and Joanna Gaines) retro fans that Target was selling say Vornado on the bottom as well.
