Sears Roebuck Model 453 80180 12" Oscillating Table Fan with 3 speeds with Green blades and trim.
I received this from a fellow collector here in SoCal. It needs some work but is pretty decent.

Very nice. I've always liked that atomic logo and green. I have an earlier style green Sears fan to this except the switch style is a little different and the grille spacing is wider. I've always liked this piano key style base better though. My fan doesn't oscillate at all it makes that same noise.

As to this oscillator problem, it's because the mechanism is stuck. Disassembly, cleaning and fresh grease will help!

The motor cover looks similar to yours, but the bottom of the base is metal on mine. Unfortunately mine isn't in great condition, for some reason the green printing has worn off the badge and switch plate and the plastic is yellowed. The gear in the bottom is stuck and I tried to fix it a few years ago but couldn't get anywhere. It is a very quiet runner though. I think you once called these the Lexus of fans. Yours I think is late 70s. Mine seems to be from 1973-74 IIRC. I also have a green Sears that was made by Knapp Monarch - metal avocado base and motor with lime green blades (not see-through), that's a '71. Somewhere in between McGraw-Edison/Toastmaster also made a metal Sears that was white with clear green blades.
