Does anyone know if Sears faced legal trouble from Casablanca over their copycat Stealth? Also love the 'M' fan from the last scan

Thats something I would wonder who dictates the trends.. Do the companies come up the unique designs Sears would sell or do they tell the companies what they want?I know back when Perry was here he would show how Home Depot would tell the companies what they wanted and they would do to order. Granted with companies like Hunter and SMC at the time they didn't have as many store exclusive models as we do today..

Here's the Sears Canada Spring and Summer 2001 Catalogue. I will also be replacing some photos that have been ruined by Photobucket with better photos used from Imgur. I hope you enjoy the catalogue.

Does anyone know if Sears faced legal trouble from Casablanca over their copycat Stealth? Also love the 'M' fan from the last scan I doubt very much but it was offered by SMC, not Sears it self. This model was not only sold by Sears. Until recently it was still made. Nowdays a second generation with different canopy and remote control is available as you can see: www.smcfans.com/products/fans/bigimages/MJR52VB.htm

I remember all of these models. Models A to F on the first page are very rare.
I believe Canadian Tire sold something very similar to the A model on the second page.
The B and C on the second page is a parent model to the Urban ceiling fan Canadian Tire sold around 2002-2004.
It's funny how the little Laguna is called ''Basic Ceiling Fan'' in the English language catalog.

It is interesting to me how they sold that older style SMC Laguna spinner with stencil blades as later as 2001, alongside fans like those SMC Quick Connect style. I would have expected the Grayton style rather than that.
Also again it surprises me that Sears still had catalogs in Canada in 2001. In North America I didn't see a full Sears catalog past 1993, and after that it was mainly magazine-size home catalogs with fans in them, or possibly small toy catalogs.
I don't think Sears in my area even sold ceiling fans much other than maybe a small selection near the paint and hardware department, but never an actual display. This was in the late 90s onward.
JCPenney however was still printing catalogs up until the late 2000s at least. I think they may still have had ceiling fans in them, but the selection was very small by that time.

In the two last years, 2007 and 2008, thier ceiling fans were Hunters. The last time they had running displays was probably in 2005.

Wow thanks for posting. I remember all of these models. The N model was new for that year and lasted into the 2004 catalog. They also had it in 132 or 137 cm size and in brushed nickel too.

Oh wow the nostalgia! Just like I remember it. An awesome selection. The black 4-speed SMC on the bottom left corner of the second page is rare!
Thank you so much for sharing.
