I have a generic ceiling fan that I have had since the 1980's. I say generic because I cannot find any company label. The chain on the speed switch (Jin You E70469) broke in the switch. I took the old switch out and made a wiring diagram but by the time I was able to find a comparable switch (Emerson 77075) the diagram disappeared. What I can see is a black wire coming down from the motor to a connected to a wire from a capacitor which makes my first switch connection. The next switch connection is a black wire off the other side of the capacitor. I then have a yellow wire from the motor and a red wire from the motor. That makes 4 wires but I pretty am sure there was a wire jumping from one switch terminal to another. Does anyone have any idea how to wire this switch up? I do know for sure that there was a black wire in port 1 on the switch. Other than that I am lost. Please anyone - help - thanks
