As always, thanks for sharing ! They're childhood fans for me I've seen a lot of them while working at the thrift store. most of them were good quality fans and I can't beleive their low price compared to today's prices

I was actually not aware that Consumers Distributing carried Canarm products...that probably explains where a fair number of the fans that come into the ReStore were purchased! ceilingfansfan101, do you know if they list that bottom-mounted in 36"? While you do see the 42" versions around, they appear to be significantly less common. I've seen a lot of them while working at the thrift store. most of them were good quality fans and I can't beleive their low price compared to today's pricesAgreed wholeheartedly, David. While those dollar amounts might have remained fairly consistent (factoring in inflation), I feel the overall value of ceiling fans has shifted dramatically. Many of those Canarm/Designaire models are still running strong after almost 30-years in-service. That's extremely impressive, given that they typically were not marketed as "high-end" fans to begin with. Personally, I doubt the same could be said about new, "comparable" Canarm fans 30-years odd from now. There are many other points about this shift, however probably no one here wants to sit through a five-page essay

I was surprised to see that a 30-50$ fan was still working that good after 20-25 years. It was impressive to see that they were still so silent, moved that much air and kept their balance after so much time. it was sad to see that a fan so old was better in quality than a newer one. Canarm has sure lost it's quality over the years... I've had a few of their newer ones and it's terrible

It's so hard to find brand new good quality ceiling fans these days unless you pay premium prices.

Again, thank you so much for sharing !
I FINALLY know where my grand parents bought their fan many years ago. On the third page, the white & gold one marked at 129.99$ was in their kitchen/dinning room for 30 years.

I'm glad you like the catalogue, especially with that white and gold High-Lite ceiling fan.
The odd thing I noticed about this catalogue was that the two spinners on the second page are completely different. The white fan is bottom mounted while the brown fan is top mounted.

Those fans are cool. I like the vents on the one with the stripes at the blade tips, and the flush mount spinner fans. I've seen some of those Windmere portables, I have a 6" like that.
And off topic, but we have a Braun coffee maker like that except the container is glass.

I'm glad you like the pictures, especially with the unusual Canarms.
