I wanted to ask if anyone's experienced the same issue with late 90s and early 00s Hunter remote controls (the add-on ones that can be added to pull chain-controlled fans):
In both my old Hunter fan (before my Panama) and my parents' Hunter fan, both remote units failed, and were working fine up until a power surge... I find it odd that we've had 2 remotes do the same thing... is anyone else experiencing the same issue, or have you experienced the same issue in the past? For my parents' fan, we eliminated the remote module and hardwired the fan so it can operate off of the wall switches and the pull chains. Just wondering if these remote modules are susceptible to failure due to power surges.

You are not the only one, Vincent...
The remote control receiver on my Augusta Remote was failing upon initial testing and later died completely. Also, two out of the three Hunter Kensingtons I have worked with had failed receivers.
