From the Habitat comes a box of (X10) home automation equipment.. $25 for 5 lamp modules, an AC wall switch controller, and some type of timing controller.. Definitely going to get some good use out of these, especially during Christmas time..
Also from the Habitat, a HeatWave heater.. This is quite a powerful heater.. It has (not pictured) a filter for the air intake, which I found interesting..
From a tag sale, an Oreck XL Classic

I think those heaters are kind of neat. They seem to use a PC power supply type fan.
How well does the Oreck work? I've never used one before.

Some I've seen do have an actual 12 volt computer fan in them.. I haven't taken this one apart yet, but it looks to have an AC shaded pole motor..
The Oreck works better than any vacuum I've used.. I've always liked Oreck vacuums for their simple, efficient and serviceable design.. It's quite remarkable how powerful it is considering how little it weighs..

That's nice to know they work well. I have a Eureka vacuum from the 90s that's very simple as well. It does a really good job and is pretty much like the old ones from the 50s and 60s but in plastic. Unfortunately they stopped making them recently...

It's nice when companies keep around designs that work well.. Oreck still makes some commercial models that are more or less the same as they always were..

I have a heater like your Heat Wave branded Champion... mine's brown-ish and still has the original box... there's supposed to be a foam filter on the back of the fan part of it (ours has the filter)... my parents got it new back in the late 80s, early 90s, and we have the original box. Kinda ineffective, but it worked.

As noted, this one has the filter also, but I haven't had a chance to clean it so it's not on there for now.. I find it works quite well compared to some other heaters I've used, perhaps yours just needed a good cleaning.. I got part of the original box with this one also, but it unfortunately is not in good condition..

I remember those Christmas lights with the flower shades on the bulbs. We used to have some of those in multi color but they all stopped working and got thrown out. I think they were early 80s era maybe? That Kill A Watt will come in handy or at least as a spare to have around.
