This is one out of four Hunter Low Profile V I got from Bridgewater's Pub, a bar at my local train station. They were the only ceiling fans I could see in this big train station. The motor somehow came out of one or two out of three hooks on the mounting bracket, apparently caused by someone cleaning the blades. Someone failed twice to fix that, and the owner has decided that the motor has finally died and decided to just get a new fan. It was replaced with 52" Harbor Breeze Centreville, but an electrician used the light kit instead of plain switch housing when owner wanted it without light. Electrician may have not read the manual. It doesn't have light bulb or shades, and I did keep all four shades and am willing to sell them to someone needing a replacement shade. It was originally going to be thrown out but I was able to get the owner to save it for me, and it turned out that the motor works perfectly fine. Two of the hooks came out of mounting bracket and one went lost already when I first got it. I borrowed hooks from my 1997 Hunter Low Profile when I installed it for testing. Here are the pictures: Notice the scratch on the motor, and the screw. All four screws on the motor are like that. Apparently, it was from someone trying to spin it with hand when sitting on the motor housing: And the housing: A video, showing all three speeds:

Glad you got it working again, just a simple fix. I LOVE these fans, and own a white one. I would like to find an older AB one like this, but with square-tipped blades. Apparently Hunter doesn't make the hooks anymore, so you have to either find them or somehow make your own.

Yeah, those people don't know nearly as much about fans as we do, and just replace fans that could very easily be fixed. The other one out of those four had motor going off of one or two out of three hooks but someone succeeded to fix it twice. I could actually try to make it my own if I can't find metal thing shaped like this.

Glad you got it working again, just a simple fix. Also, didn't same thing happened to your other Hunter Low Profile V when you thought the motor got bent?

Then how did it get bent? The motor didn't get bent. This was 10 years ago so I don't remember
