That is definitely cheap shipping for a fan. I mean most fans are dropped shipped (Hunter, Minka, Casablanca, etc.) so the price is included in the individual fan. I was surprised to see after checking out their site, the old 42" Landmark with 4 blades that comes with a bowl light kit. There's a number of versions of the Landmark on there.. The other 42" one that was of interest to me was the 42" Huntington Quick Connect.. I've never seen those in anything smaller than 52".. I'd get one of those too if they were cheaper,, I really like those..

I think they look nice but the performance I would worry about it'd have to be like $15 max for me to get it.
42" fans are something that need to make a large comeback there aren't a whole lot of them that move good air. Hunter has a few models but other brands not so much.

I just bought a pair last week but I haven't had time to test them yet.. I really like their looks.. Can't comment on their performance personally,, but I've heard they're a bit above average.. The blades are certainly wider than average and the pitch is decent..
That's an interesting point,, now that I think about it,, I really can't come up with any 42" fans that offer a really good performance other than a few of the older Hunters like the Beacon Hill.. Even 42" Originals aren't really anything to write home about.. I have a feeling they won't be coming back though,, if anything they're phasing out.. There's not much demand for them,, I think most houses today have large enough rooms that a 52" or larger fan will be fine in the majority of cases..

I owned one when I first got to collecting from a yard sale. It was OK. I staying in a house once where they had ones from around 2007 and one that was dated from probably 2004. The 2004 one for some reason Moved MUCH more Air and was super fast. I guess it all depends on who made it and so forth.
The Beacon Hills and Bayports are the best I've ever seen for a 42" fan. The older Hudsons are probably up there too. The new 5 Series ones decreased the motor from a 172 to a 153 sized motor which in Hunters, I've never seen a worse motor for a half way decent fan.
I agree the 42" Originals are not that great when it comes to airflow. I don't think they'll come back either. I think where the Original line up is now is where it will stay maybe get a finish or two in the future but thats it. I'm kind of suprised they haven't come up with a 42" Blade set that you can buy and just change out your Original like what they did with Casablanca's. Unless the motor has something to do with that.
My ultimate wish is for HDSupply to come out with the DC-42 style Landmarks. I'd buy one of those!

I don't remember for certain but something tells me the ones I got were made in 2002.. Probably won't get to take a look at them until next week..
That's really disappointing.. Unfortunately that's a common story for Hunter now..
I think 42" blades on a 52" motor may be too little load on it,, so the irons would have to have increased pitch like Casablanca's..
Since all the classic fans on HD Supply are now in the 'While Supplies Lasts' category,, I think we have unfortunately seen the remaining classic fans that we're going to from them..
