I remember in 2008 I believe it was we had a Garage Sales/Yard Sales find thread. Lets bring that back it was neat! With yard sales starting up this weekend post any pictures of sightings or finds you find this year. I'm a yardsale, auction, flea market fanatic so I will begin posting myself!

I'll have to starting bringing my camera to the sales, there have now been two fantastic installs that I'll probably never have the opportunity to see again, and I was not able to capture pictures of them.. O well.. But regardless, here are the finds:
Fans: 1) GE Vortalex 2 speed, 10".. This is a model I've been looking to get for a while now.. Its absolutely stunning cosmetically, but its a mechanical disaster.. Will be restored..
2) Patton U2-1872, one of the most powerful fans in my collection.. The blades look brand new, but unfortunately the grills are a bit tarnished.. Runs beautifully.. For more pictures of this, view my thread on this fan..
3) Obscure Vornado fan from 1998.. I know nothing about these fans, other than the fact that they are imitations of the Emerson Silver Swam.. Anyone have any info to share on these? Paid $10 for it.. Runs fine, needs a lot of cleaning and the oscillator doesn't seem to work at first look..
4) My first Windmere! Nothing really collectible, Windmere is just one of those brands that I like anything from.. Runs fine, needs cleaning and a repair on the wire..
5) Honeywell HT-900.. Again not collectible, but these are solid fans to use around the house..
6) Living Accents 9" box fan, obtained for nostalgia purposes and for the interest of Todd:
Heaters: Titan "Milk-House" Heater:
Clocks: GE Stereo Clock/Radio with Blue display:
Computer Equipment: 1) Typical Dell keyboard:
2) Linksys wireless router (which I was in good need of):
Telephones and Accessories: 1) Panasonic DECT 6 (1.9 GHz digital) KX-TG6411 with 2 handsets,, batteries need to be replaced otherwise good:
2) Vtech CS-6114, DECT 6 (1.9 GHz digital).. Battery is good, was fully refurbished by me.. This is a model I've been wanting for some time now for ridiculous reasons..
3) 25' cord in an uncommon color, and an even more uncommon state of not stretched out and dirty,, an RJ11 cord, and an RJ11 line connector (can never have enough of those):
Electrical Adapters etc.. A box containing a wide variety of electrical devices such as outlet duplicators (another thing I can never have enough of), power bars, electrical timers, extension cords, wire nuts, switch covers, switches and more:
Cameras Got a FujiFilm 4900z which I forgot to capture a picture of (ironic).. It is missing necessary components so I will be giving it to a friend who collects old digital cameras.. But if anyone really wants to see it I can get a picture of it tomorrow..

Why is this in the ceiling fan section?

Been viewing here for years, rarely ever post. But that Patton fan is a gem. They are very rare, in my opinion. No, it is not a ceiling fan. But something found like that probably has some serious value in that condition. I don't really collect any more. I have a few ceiling and portable fans with sentimental value stored in a crawl space 1,700 miles from where I live. I maintain a very minimalist lifestyle, and would never have a practical use for that Patton fan, but man I want it! A house I lived in when I was VERY young had one of these left in the basement from the previous owner. I was about five years old when my father plugged it in and it ran like new. There was a bit of blue left on the blades, but was otherwise solid rust. I have a picture of it somewhere that my mother took for me. Not sure what ever happened to it, I am sure it was left in the same basement when we moved from the country to a city-suburb. In my previous experience, anything with a Windmere logo is garbage. But they did have a few cool fans. When it comes to old-school 90's plastic mini-box fans, I think Holmes had the best with the 10" box fan. Big, chunky blades. And that odd "Child-proof" switch that you had to push down before turning. It was on most of their models, including the cool multi-colored mini-pedestal fans.

Love this fan! I like small box fans like this for some reason. How'd you know I'd like this fan? lol

They're not particularly rare, but far less common than say a U2-1887.. I'd imagine its worth a fair bit, if nothing else just because its such as well-built machine.. I'm not a very materialistic person, I typically only spend a few dollars on each fan in my collection.. I don't have, nor desire to have, the 'latest and greatest' of everything.. I've had different experience with Windmere.. They're certainly not a top quality brand, but all the fans I've used from them are quite powerful.. I also have a Windmere hairdryer which has been going for many many years.. I know Duracraft made box fans with that style switch, but I'm not familiar with these Holmes box fans you mention.. I have seen the multi-colored fans though, those are pretty neat pieces..
Why is this in the ceiling fan section? I've been wondering the same thing,, I thing it would be better suited in the 'General' category..

Why is this in the ceiling fan section? I was making this thread for Ceiling Fan sightings thats why I initially put it in the Ceiling Fan General category.

So far this year. I've been to only four yard sales that had Ceiling Fans.
The first one had a 90's Litex Builder fan for $25.
The second had a 1st generation Harbor Breeze Builders Best/Classic for $25.
The third had two Hampton Bay Huntington III's one used for $10 and the other for $20 that was NIB. I bought the NIB one for $15 to resell and make some money on.
The fourth had a Monte Carlo Lodge with the Antler Light Kit for $100. I wanted that but not for $100... The guy wouldn't barter either, his loss.
Nothing GREAT but its always exciting to spot something and run over to check it out.
