I've never even seen pictures of one before, I've seen similar antique ones, but they don't have the birdcage shape. Do you have any idea how old it is? its from the mid century so probally around then late 60s or so i do know its mid century though and very rare it has a fasco motor in it though i have no idea how to cean it cuz there doesnt seem to be a way to get the cage off to get to the blower and canned air don't

I always assumed it was the bearings. Eventually I took it apart when it was replaced but that was 13 years ago. I no longer have the fan. I still have one of them and it runs perfectly. thte bearings seems fine on this one it has a very long spin down its just a bit noisy

My parents house initially had 3 of these Palm Air's it in when they bought it. The first one to be replaced was due to this exact cause. It continued to get louder as time went on. The other two were silent. I've heard of these doing this though from other ones I've been under in stores and so forth. They seemed to be popular in my area. Good fans and awesome airflow! so that noise is common on these then welll it runs great and the bearings are great in it i was just curious as to what the noise was

Love it!! These are AWESOME fans! i love it tooo but im trying to figure out why the motro makes sort of a griding sound its not the bearings cuz it has a long spin down and spins very freely is that just normal for these fans
