I'm to that point myself.. I love the hobby, and I plan to keep one of my storage units, but when it comes to fans being everywhere and there is no room to put anything, then it's become a problem.. And I'm not going to become and hoarder, one of those people who have so much in their house they literally have to make paths to each room.. I've seen that with people before and I'm not going to be one of those.. Can't save everything, and I don't want to hear people question why didn't I get something when I make Habitat Youtube videos... I'm steadily going to be winding down on everything, and getting rid of stuff, and keeping stuff I really like.. And probably will still get stuff here and there.. It use to be much more fun 8 to 12 years ago.. But most things are already discovered and most people already have what they want.. So the new generation has taken over and they are into the Hampton Bay and cheapest fans from the 90s to now.. And I personally consider that a heap of scrap metal.. The only thing they are worth is yanking the pullswitch / reverse switch / downrod, / motor screws, and if they have the bottom switch cap screw even better, then scrap the rest.. The website will never go anywhere.. It's for the community.. Alot of people do like to sell and ship stuff to thin down their collection, but to me, it seems to be so much work for only making $20-30 here and there...

That is pretty much what I meant in Cole portable fan thread but it got misunderstood. I don't find it very reasonable and stable to accumulate hundreds and hundreds of the same type of objects at the point of having no more storage space for other things we need in life, having to use at least one room of the house just for that and having to pay to store all of these. If it comes to this point, it's too extreme. This is what I meant.

Honestly, I have been forced to drastically slow down over the years myself. Back in "the early years" (2010-era), I was a typical young fan collector. In essence, any ceiling fan that was relatively affordable became a part of The Collection. Yet over the years, I was simply forced to rid myself of crap due to storage constraints, and replace it with fans that were actually of value. It took a notable amount of time, however I finally learned what a truly high-quality ceiling fan was. Instead of third-rate, beat-up Canarms, The Collection now consists of cast iron spinners, stack-motor models and other high quality fans with few exceptions.
With my volunteer work at ReStore, I am often conflicted as to what should be sold, and what deserves to end up in the infamous scrap metal bin. Since only a handful of truly notable vintage fans are donated per year, the majority of what is sold consists of 90's models (some certainly far better than others). Often, the decision regarding what to salvage is difficult - is that "fancy looking" Heritage worth the time and effort to refurbish? After all, the money supports an excellent cause. I believe with the abundance of fans that are donated annually, it is simply not worth selling everything, regardless if something "looks fancy." On the other hand, is it worthwhile (and even mildly entertaining) to assemble/test a brand new Hampton Bay worth over $250.00 new? Sure! Will I add this to my collection though? Of course not.
Ultimately, vintage fans are the way to go in my opinion (and that of the great majority of other members here one would hope). Does this infer that new fans are all garbage? I argue not. Especially lately it appears, there are actually some top-notch offerings - both in terms of quality and design - available at lighting showrooms and even home centers in certain cases. Take a glance at "The Classic Two" (Emerson and Fanimation) and more recently, Kitchler. However, it is often quite difficult (if not impossible) to compete with the character of true classics such as R&M-era Hunter Originals, Casablanca Zephyrs, Moss Heirlooms, SMC A52s, Encon/Crompton Greaves High Breezes, etcetera.

Humm awesome, I love it! It's almost the same as a Quatre Saisons Classic. I bet it's super powerful.

Nice fan Adam. I like it much more without the light kit. Gives it a whole different "personality"
