Good point. But the stealth undoubtedly looks better True. I'm glad HunterBlanca didn't ruin the Stealth. Its not all bad; some products they made look better. Some look terrible, but having seen and experienced most of the lineup, they are all high quality, and they all haul some ASS in the air department.

I do not know what the hell possessed quorum to manifest something like or remotely close to this. They dubbed this fan "windmill", and yet, it has no resemblance to a windmill. They took a normal looking motor housing and stuck a small DC motor into it. Then they put 15 huge blades on it, to make it waaay uglier than it has the potential to be if the blades were normalized. And it's not a very effective air mover for its size, at 72" and 6,400 CFM. Whoever approved this needs to be fired from Quorum, as nobody in their right mind wouldn't only not purchase this, but they for certain would not subtract a grand from their savings for this piece of crap. While I don't particularly like this unit, I think it looks very much like a windmill..

It looks like someone tilted over a windmill on its side and put a downrod on it! It probably goes as slow as one too!

I'm siding more with ridiculous. If I want a ceiling fan in my room, I'll put a ceiling fan, I don't really look for a windmill to put on my ceiling. It looks like someone tilted over a windmill on its side and put a downrod on it! It probably goes as slow as one too! Lol it's like it needs a breeze in order to spin just like a real windmill.

I guess it fits in a more, 'Industrial' Design style home. Restoration Hardware is an example where the fan might fit into. Some restaurants can also use the fan if they are going for a country look. People might just choose an odd and creative fan like this. Sadly nowadays not as much people care much about superb performance, If it looks good and blows air, than they will buy it.
From my position though, it is still quite ugly.... but it is interesting to say.

Have you never taken a drive in the country lol? The old windmills on farms used to fascinate me to no end.
I wouldn't put the Windmill fan in my home, it's industrial chic like Brian pointed out, but I think it's the kind of niche product that would fit well in a number of places. Honestly, they did a fantastic job of channeling the old fashioned 'farm' windmill in the design. We saw these fans pretty early on in the Facebook group from a Quorum rep and people were pretty enthusiastic about it. While it's not really my style, it's a fantastic business decision, considering custom hanging units (whether functional as a fan or not) using actual windmill parts have been somewhat trendy for years. I mean, if you just Google 'windmill ceiling fan' you'll see what I mean. There's a market for it, I'm sure Quorum's fan is actually cheaper than most of the custom-made units.

From my position though, it is still quite ugly.... but it is interesting to say. You make a good point. I could definitely see these in a country styled restaurant. That is true about performance, people really don't care anymore, if you think about it. If the people don't care, then why should the companies? Lol. I'm pretty sure it's just us collectors that really care nowadays. Have you never taken a drive in the country lol? The old windmills on farms used to fascinate me to no end. They used to fascinate me too. When I was a little kid sometimes I'd ask my parents to get me a certain toy just because it had a tiny windmill with it. The windmills I really like are the really old ones made out of wood. Those are awesome. I do have to agree with you on the design, they did nail it. However I wouldn't want a windmill on my ceiling, but like Brian said, it could fit in a country themed restaurant very well. I'd be interested to see how these windmill fans perform. Does anyone else make windmill fans like this?
