OMGOMG WOWOWOW I really freaking like those! One of my favorite Emerson fans of all time, behind the petal.

One of my favorites as well, it ranks up there with the Petal and Tristar for the crazy Emersons I love from the 90s. Certainly more of a basic design than those models, but totally weird nonetheless.

Picked this NIB U42 up a couple weeks back at a thrift store. Brown UFO motor, half decent bearings, moves great air for a fan of its size and for being a hugger. Not a whole lot else to say, been kind of wanting an earlier U-series fan just because they rank in the select hugger fans I honestly like, so I was happy to spot this one.

Nice SMC, I've been on an SMC kick wanting to find one but those dad gum bearings are what always scare me away!

Very nice SMC Victoria (Carolina in the US?). The extra canopy came from the other brown one that was broken? I wish I could find a good motor for mine.
I love SMC Royal Flushes in this finish combo and especially with hard brackets. We don't see often those boxes in blue it seems and I noticed that the size is shown only in inches.

Very nice! One of my favorite finds from you this year.. I've always heard these are quite powerful units,, its a shame they didn't come with better bearings

Yup Jean, the canopy came from the ornate one that was dead.

So awhile back I bought this Emerson Laclede Eco as an open box damage item. I was hoping it would be functional when I got it, but unfortunately the EcoMotor was not functioning properly. As much as I champion DC technology, this is an unfortunate example of where it can go wrong for us. I had no idea what I was dealing with, whether it was a motor or receiver issue, or how to fix it if it was even a repairable issue. Upon opening the motor itself, I discovered some apparent component damage on the little board inside, which I don't think I ever would've been able to fix. I complained and got a refund of my payment, but the seller didn't want the fan back. With all that said, since this fan was basically a pile of scrap metal anyways and I had a spare K55, I totally went to town hacking it apart to do a motor swap. This is probably the most ridiculous fan-related thing I've ever done, but I have to say it came out pretty good. The K55 is perhaps a little underpowered for such enormously wide blades of a 62" span (the blade arms aren't lightweights either), it keeps up decently though. Puts out good air. Also just have to add, this fan feels HUGE. It holds such an enormous presence even though the blade span isn't ridiculously big. The box is the absolute biggest fan box I have ever owned. Video of it as it was originally with the malfunctioning EcoMotor will go up tomorrow, next day will be a video as it is now with the K55. Here are the pics as I got it, still with the EcoMotor: And here it is with the K55. You can't tell much difference (that's what I was going for lol), except the blade arms have gaps between them because the arms didn't line up with the flywheel the same way they did on the EcoMotor.

Nice motor swap! How will it be controlled?

I used the SR400 remote kit. It's set up to run on high speed with lights on if fully direct wired, so it could really pair with any remote kit or wall control.

Picked up this Charleston from Craigslist last week. Oddly enough, my American Spirit came from CL too, I've never found any flywheel-based models at a thrift/restore locally but it's so hard to find FASCO up here in general. Needed some cleaning when I got it, the finish was all greasy and cloudy, but it shined up amazingly. Had a loose and gangly spotlight kit on it, I didn't like how it looked anyway so I swapped it for a single fitter, which I like much better on a Charleston. Runs nicely, really in near-mint condition after cleaning.
