If it has a K55B motor (similar bottom end bell, but smaller than the K63) and 4 plastic blades, it's a Universal Series. Emerson split the blenders into two separate lines around 1979-80; '3-blade and no switch housing' retained the Heat Fan name (model number beginning with HF instead of CF) and was marketed for industrial applications, while the '4-blade with switch housing' configuration was titled the Universal Series and marketed for residential/commercial use.

That's what I thought, some people seem to think the 52" version with fiberglass blades with switch housing from before 1979 think they are Heat Fans, but I have yet to see anything that confirms that..

Pierce posted the literature from 1976 to these forums, with the switch housing fans labeled Heat Fans.
