When you say cars, are you using that term loosely to refer to vehicles in general? For example, when it comes to Ford I think they still make decent trucks, but their current 'cars' are not the greatest...

Whos got time for that? lol In that case, I'd say I don't like brands that put more hype on the technology in their vehicles than anything else. In my opinion, there's much to be said about a vehicle with a soid engine in it, and little to be said about those with all the fancy voice-acitvated GPSs, fuel effiency features, and the latest park/brake/drive itself features because people can't focus while they're driving etc.

I agree and its hard to get either stripped down models or lesser equipped ones because everyone wants this that ant the other. This is true, just look at Toyota. In the 90s and early 2000s they put out great basic Camrys, some of which I've seen still going with over 350,000 miles on them. Now all Toyota cares about is this Prius stuff...that's part of why I like my Jeep, its one of few vehicles they make with nothing in them. Mine doesn't have any technology other than a radio, not even powered windows/locks. Some would say that's a little excessive (and at times it can be a nuisance eg opening the right side window while driving) but I'd rather than then have the batteries giving out in the keys or the window regulartors breaking which Jeep is notorious for and other things of that nature.

I know exactly what you mean, I have manual windows. In fact besides people I know with pre 1990 cars, I only know one other person with manual windows still and she has a Civic.
My next truck I know will have power windows/locks because they're standard on the base model. That I can live with but I don't really want all the extra stuff. Navigation would be nice but I have a GPS that works well and I can use it in any car I drive.
I'm assuming you have a Wrangler?

I don't know anyone who has manual windows anymore. People that drive with me for the first time are all confused, they don't get why I have to unlocks the doors individually, they can't open the window, and while some know what the manual shift is nobody has ever seen one in person.
I have a TOMTOM GPS, which is independent of the vehicle. I actually prefer this because if I was ever to go somewhere with someone else, or had to use a different vehicle, I could still have my GPS. Though in reality, with the GPS on the i-Fones now a devoted GPS isn't really necessary anymore. In fact, recently I tend to use the i_Fone one more often just out of convenience.
Yes, I have a Wrangler.

The locks I don't mind at all. The window element is annoying once in a while but then again I'm very passive about it. I normally take my girlfriends car in social situations because I can only sit three because of it being a regular cab.
I still have a basic phone (with no plans to get a smartphone) so the GPS is my best buddy for traveling. I've used an iPhone for the GPS element and it is pretty cool I must say.
I really like wranglers. A few months ago I tossed the idea of suggesting the to be Mrs. for her next car. I've never ridden in one actually but I love the idea of taking the top off. I have some relatives who got a hardtop Unlimited but they recently traded it on a new Dodge Durango. Ultimately she would need to drive one because she's very picky about visibility.

Mine is 2 door, so getting more than one person in is annoying, but I don't have access to any other vehicles so I make do.
I don't really know why I have a smartphone lol, I hardly ever use it for anything. I make all my calls via my landline telephone, I'm not a cellphone addict so I'm not into texting much and all that stuff that people are constantly doing on them.
I like the Wranglers and the Cherokees (older versions), but those are nearly impossible to find in manual which is a necessity so I went with the Wrangler. If someone is particular about visibility, then its probably not for them. It has a very classic feel to it in that the windscreen is very small, and therefore the viewing angle is narrow. If you have a soft top, in the winter you just can't see out the back unless you were to clean it every day.

I always find it beneficial cause you don't have to drive to some events with others which is a plus lol.
I only text like 3 different people and for the calling I usually call from home cause I can hear better. Honestly although smartphones are convenient I just hate texting on them with the touch screen (I like the actual buttons) and when I'm at school I always have my laptop so it always works so far.
The Jeeps are REALLY popular around here. Theres at least two Jeep clubs in a 10 mile radius that are quite big. The Cherokees are VERY popular with my age (18-25) group and are constantly popping up in my town which is very rural. Wranglers are popular in the more populated towns and especially near the shore. My Dad has a friend whose a VERY big Jeep fan. He's got a I believe '99 Cherokee that he completely customized and loves. He's planning on getting a new one for their 75th Anniversary.. I'm assuming he'd get a Wrangler Unlimited because I know he won't go for the new Cherokee I know many are upset with it. Although the new Cherokee is starting to gain popularity with the middle aged ladies and I'm starting to see them actually replace a lot of compact cars like Focus and the Chevy Cobalt I've noticed.
The older Grand Cherokees are picking up in popularity too but no where near the Cherokee.

If its not a Ford or GM, its a piece of crap. Everything needs to have a V8..4 cylinders are basically lawnmowers.

My lawn mower is 2 cylinder, so its essentially half of most cars out there..that's lame. I like my V6, its got enough power but doesn't use the ridiculous amount of gas the V8 would. I always find it beneficial cause you don't have to drive to some events with others which is a plus lol. The older Grand Cherokees are picking up in popularity too but no where near the Cherokee. What kind of telephones have you at home? (I also collect cordless phones, which needless to say is way more out of hand than my fan collection). I always have my computer at school as well, in which case its easier to text off of the computer so that's what I usually do. I can't stand typing on cellphones. The Jeeps were extremely popular in high school, almost every other vehicle in the lot was one. Not sure if there are any clubs around here though... I still see quite a few here, but not as many. I am one of those who are pretty upset with the latest release of the Cherokee, personally I consider it an abomination. I don't have anything wrong with the vehicle itself, while its not my style I know that type is getting pretty popular today and it does have its market share, but call it something else. Its just not a Cherokee.
