I had a fan with noisy sealed bearings, I used zoom spout following Dan's youtube video and they became super silent!

zoom spout is a lot cheaper and thought of as better than hunter oil. Just order a case like I did and you are literally set for life. I bought mine of amazon.com. For the price of 4 tubes of hunter oil you could get a case of zoom spout. true? sounds like a good deal lol might try to find that deal

Making them out of sheet metal sounds great.. Finding matching paint for most fans can be a problem.. Home Depot and Walmart doesn't sell every shade of brown and white a fan may be.. And if it's Brass, AB, copper, or chrome, the only option is to get it plated..

Zoom spout isnt better, but it's just as good.

To add my segment on oils, I use both ZoomSpout and three-in-one non detergent (blue can). I have not seen a different between then, they both work equally as well. But that's in portable fans...
