i just noticed in the member galleries list that there are 2 categories, one named GEC and another one named general electreic.. aren't they both the same company?

There's the American General Electric, and then there's the overseas General Electric, which is not at all related. I belive Davimport fans were made by the overseas General Electric. The overseas General Electric I believe is the same as GEMC/GEC, but that's a guess based on a memory.

Yes.. General Electric (GE) was founded in the United States in 1892. General Electric Company (GE C) was founded in Great Britain/England/United Kingdom in 1886 and went defunct in 1999. The biggest difference between the two is the acronym and the fact that GE never really ever attached the term "company/Co." to its name.

so i guess i am more familiar with general electric since GE ACs can be found in UAE
