Took a long weekend this past weekend and went down to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. The nearest Habitat was the one in Knoxville and fortunately it was right off of the Interstate to I dropped by there on the way back, They had quite a few fans hanging, mostly 90s Hunters and other generic crap. They had 3 blades to an Evergo Banana Fan but the 4th blade and motor were MIA. Walked off with this little bugger though, even has the wall control: Both the labels on the canopy and wall control were peeled off unfortunately, but we all know well enough that this is a Moss Caribbean Breeze. Is this for sale ? I need one ASAP ! :/

Newest scores of mine, been procrastinating to post here: 1st find is a brown/brass NuTone Sea Island $20 habitat find. Missing mounting bracket traditionally but everything else is there. The only big issue this fan has is the blades are badly warped. 2nd find is an Emerson Blenderfan from the mid 70s. Got this from Christian C. From a trade: And last but not least is a nice 1984 Fasco World's Fair. Charlie E. made a long road trip to get these since this one and one other identical fan were up for sale up in Northern Ohio. We shelled out $100 each for these. Upon further inspection we found that the flywheels were not surprisingly falling apart so i did what Adam did and ordered new 5 blade flywheels and drilled them to fit 6 blades. an other issue we have also is that both potentiometers on these fans are bad so we have to keep the fan on the strict high setting and use wall controls on them for now. I have a 4 speed control on my fan. which works perfectly.

Recently went on vacation to Ft. Meyers, florida and came back with a few finds. The fun part is that I flew down so whatever I found I had to ship back. Which made me pass some cool fans up that I would normally wouldn't. First fan is a 1989 Fasco Charleston 5 blade, $10 habitat score. 2nd is a 1992 5 blade Charleston, $30 CL find. The seller had another, but was rattlecanned brown so I passed. Finally I ventured into a Dan's Fan city and bought this chrome Gulf Coast Dixie Belle. I chose a set of 17" black high-gloss blades for it. I also had to ship this fan back so in total this cost me $300, but well worth it.

Is it just me or does one Fasco have a thicker housing?

Love the three finds! It's awesome when you find fans when you don't expect to be finding any! I went on vacation to NC once and didn't expect to get a 14" Patton high velocity but I did!

Also definitely let me know if you ever get rid of one of your 5B Charlestons or any Charleston at all... I really want one, they're sorta childhood fans, my elementary school was filled to the brim with them until they started replacing them with builder crap

You had to ship to yourself the fans you found and find appropriate material over there in Florida?
The housing of the second Fasco Charleston also seems slightly thicker to me.
The Gulf Coast you choose is beautiful.

Robot: One Charleston is already spoken for, the other is mine to keep.
If you read my text you would have seen that I just put a new flywheel on the WF, Its good for awhile.
Jean:
I had FedEx pack the fans up and ship them to me. Which was very expensive. It actually cost me more to have the fans shipped to me than the material they used surprisingly. I flew down there so that's the reason I had to ship them back, If I drove down I would've just brought them back in the car plus a few more I had to pass up.
The Charleston housings are identical, just perspective is throwing you off.
