Newer Hampton Bays (post-'00)...well, they suck; there is no other way to describe them. Some Hampton Bays from the 80s and 90s were okay, though.. a lot of them were made by SMC and Crest. Now, these two brands aren't necessarily the best.. particularly Crest, but they're far Far FAR better than what King of Fans (the OEM of most of them to date) has become. Some were also Fasco relabels.

The only landmarks that are even remotely decent are those made in the 80s. SMC, like King of Fans, has degraded significantly over the past decade.

I have two Hampton Bays in my house; a Tiffany Cardinal and Raleigh III. You can see the Tiffany Cardinal in this 2000 Home Depot catalogue: [a href=" "] [/a] The Tiffany Cardinal is okay; I recently replaced the bulbs in the lighted housing which was a PAIN to do. It runs pretty nicely still and hardly gets used (It's over the table in my kitchen). Air movement is decent, but the motor is starting to hum and it wobbles on high. The other Hampton Bay in my house is a Raleigh III like the one shown in my 2002 Home Depot catalogue: [a href=" "] [/a] It's okay; the only thing I like about it is the air movement; I'm really surprised it moves as much air as it does. The pull chains are awful, especially the fan one; it is so sticky and you feel like you'll pull the fan down when you pull the chain. Not the best fan; it's in my den. It seems like Home Depot has gone downhill. The fans are getting cheap; if I ever see a Hampton Bay in a public place it usually has warped blades and/or bent brackets or it wobbles. The only fans I'd buy from Home Depot are: -A quality Hunter ( not the 5-minute fans ) -The 60" Industrial -*Possibly* a Landmark III in Polished brass SMC has really gone cheap on us...

I don't dislike the Reddington III pewter/Black.
I think it looks kinda neat, but its quality is a different story.
When I visited my grandparents at their Florida condo in spring of 2003, they decided to enlist my help in finding a ceiling fan for their 'Florida room' We went to HD and ended up with a 42" white Landmark, which is very SMC-esque. It is better than the 1st gen. Grayton they had. It got replaced by a NIB 42" white Hunter Low Profile II. They offered me the Grayton, but I declined, so Goodwill got it and eventually sold it.
This is all before I stumbled across this site, and knew how much better vintage ceiling fans are. Of course, Home Depot's fan selection was much better back in 2003, and it was at its prime in the fall of 1996 when they first opened in my area.

I would have had 5 ceiling fans in my collection right now if I hadn't lost my white Redington III. My very nice neighbor gave me an old (probably one of the earliest Redington IIIs) Hampton Bay Redington III in white when I was like 6 or 7. It didn't have the mounting or glass, just the fan itself with the blades. The neighbors gave it to me since they lost the remote and couldn't use the fan. Anyway, I had the fan for about a week before my parents threw it out. Not a big loss, but that would have been my first collected ceiling fan and I would have had 5 ceiling fans in my collection right now. Oh well.... I suppose I'm glad my neighbor didn't give me an Original and that got thrown out...

I'm not big on any of the Jericho's not big on the style of them. Yeah, they do look a little unusual with hugger-esque housings combined with a downrod. I don't mind the Moonglow, though
